Squirrels in the Attic
Squirrels enter attics through gable vents, soffits, and any other
hole that they can exploit. They will use the existing insulation in
the attic to build their nests and raise their young. If a squirrel has
taken up residence in your attic, the only practical way to remove
them is by trapping.
Fox Squirrels usually produce two litters each year. The average
litter consists of two to four baby squirrels.
ADVANCED WILDLIFE CONTROL LLC
REMOVES SQUIRRELS FROM YOUR HOUSE AND THEN TAKES THEM AWAY FROM YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
We won’t simply exclude or chase squirrels a few feet away from your home! They can cause too much damage trying to get back in!
Squirrels have to Chew!
Squirrels have to chew in order to maintain
the proper length of their teeth. Many times
we find that a squirrel has encountered a
hole that is the perfect size for them to enter
an attic. In a matter of days, these squirrels
will chew and chew on this opening,
enlargening it to almost twice its original
size! We have seen squirrels chew through
wood, plastic, vinyl siding, and even thin
sheets of aluminum. The biggest with
squirrels chewing in an attic or soffit area is
the chance that thesquirrels are chewing into
household wiring. A squirrel’s incisors will
grow up to SIX inches per year!
Squirrel Trapping
Squirrels are persistant rodents that will chew their way back into a house if they are sealed out or excluded. In order to assure that there will be no further damage to your home, our professional squirrel trappers set traps for squirrels that catch them alive. These cage traps are usually set directly over the opening that the squirrels are using to enter the attic or soffit of the house. When the squirrel leaves the opening, it is caught in the cage trap and taken away.
The offending squirrel WILL NEVER be back to your house.
We rarely place squirrel traps on the ground. There are too many squirrles that are not harming your house in the area. We only want to catch and charge for the squirrels that are causing you ask for help!
Damage from Squirrels
Squirrels will create nests in attics, soffits, and sometimes crawlspaces.
The squirrels will chew wires and even the lumber in which your house is constructed! Squirrels will remove insulation from attics and use it to make their nests. We have seen some attics that have the fiberglass insulation totoally removed - only the paper backing is left! The squirrells removed the insulation and bunched it up in one small corner of the attic to create a nest.
Squirrels can bring parasites into your home such as fleas, mites, ticks, and lice. Squirrel are also known to harbor rabies and tularemia.
The most common concern with squirrels in a house is the structural damage that they are capable of. Trapping squirrels and removing them from the local area is the best solution to the squirrel problem.
